NEW PHOTOS of the Munchkin class courtesy once again of our own Anne-Marie Lemieux (thanks so much A-M) have been posted. Definitely THE cutest students at the dojo! :-)

West Island Karate ® is a martial arts school located in Beaconsfield on the west island of Montreal, Quebec, Canada (also serving Kirkland, Pierrefonds, Pointe-Claire and Dollard-des-Ormeaux). The dojo (school) was founded by Sensei John Kalaidopoulos (4th Dan) in 1997. West Island Karate hosts the Canadian Junior Kyokushin Championships, our annual tournament for juniors which is the premier event of its kind in Canada. We teach Kyokushin Karate the traditional way in a friendly, family-oriented environment with an emphasis on technique, physical fitness, and the building of the mind and spirit. While always having fun and being challenged, our students learn much more than a respected martial art and self-defense. They also learn invaluable lessons which can be applied to every aspect of their lives, now and in the future. This is the Kyokushin way.
The West Island Karate website serves several purposes:
To convey what West Island Karate is all about and to show that we are not just any typical karate dojo...our spirit, knowledge and sense of community set us apart.
To act as a bulletin board for our students and their families by announcing news and upcoming events.
Please note that you can go directly to "News and Events" at any time by clicking on the West Island Karate patch at the bottom of every page of our site.
To help students (and the public in general) learn more about Kyokushin karate by supplementing their knowledge of techniques, terminology, etiquette and Kyokushin philosophy.
We appreciate any comments or suggestions you may have to help us improve our site, so please feel free to drop us a line. Thank you for your time and we hope you enjoy your visit. Osu!
